Rajiv Ranjan Mishra
Managing Director
Rajiv's experience has been in project financing, investment appraisal, finance and accounting, and general management. Before joining Apraava Energy, he held many global leadership positions in the power industry viz. the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of BLCP Power in Thailand; the Finance Director of PowerGen India; and the Finance Director of LG Energy in Seoul, South Korea.
He is also the Chairman of Association of Power Producers (APP), an industry representative to address issues of the power sector. Additionally, Rajiv Co-Chairs CII National Committee on Power, and CII National Council on Climate Change, a council formed to strategize on implementation of the National Action Plan on Climate Change. In 2022, Rajiv was named among the ‘Top 50 Powerful Wind Leaders in India’ by Wind Insider magazine.
As a recognized knowledge expert, Rajiv participates in various national and international industry speaker platforms, including the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP), World Sustainable Development Summit, Energy Transition Forum, G20, CDP India, and CII summits, among others.
Rajiv is an Advanced Management Program Graduate from the Harvard Business School, Boston. He is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow and completed his Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from BIT, Sindri.

Haziq Beg
Chief Operating Officer
Since joining Apraava Energy in 2019 as Deputy COO, Haziq has been instrumental in driving the company's low-carbon business growth and overseeing its digital transformation journey. His extensive expertise lies in project development, technical oversight, project financing, construction, and operations management across various segments of the power sector.
Before joining Apraava Energy, Haziq served as the COO of the business arm at IL&FS Energy. He has also held key positions at ABB Energy Ventures, North Delhi Power Limited (now TPDDCL), and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Haziq's professional journey began with the Indian Railways, where he managed the construction and operations of traction and distribution assets for approximately six years.
Haziq is a qualified computer engineer from IIT Delhi and an electrical engineer from IIT Roorkee. He completed his Executive Development Program from IMD in 2021. Haziq also possesses a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Finance from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, India.

Gopinath Govindan
Director – Human Resources
Under Gopinath’s leadership, Apraava Energy set out on its transformational journey with the creation of a new corporate brand identity and refreshed Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values. His role at the firm entails building a strong corporate and employer brand and leveraging the power of people and communities, aligned with its values.
In addition to embedding sustainability as an integral part of work culture at Apraava Energy, he is a CII-certified Sustainability Assessor. He is also an assessor for the CII-EXIM Bank Award for Business Excellence and CII National HR Excellence Awards. As a commitment to advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the workplace, Apraava Energy is one of the signatories to the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP), an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact and UN Women. Gopinath has been instrumental in the journey to embed a culture of excellence and inclusion at Apraava Energy.
Gopinath is actively involved in several pro bono initiatives including with the Whiteboard, Mumbai Chapter where he supports NGOs with strategic advisory in organizational issues, along with a panel of senior industry experts. Promoting a strong culture of volunteering and community engagement at Apraava is a priority.
Prior to joining Apraava Energy, Gopinath held leadership roles at Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporate Limited.
Gopinath is an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur and St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and is also trained in Strategic HR from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Samir Ashta
Director - Finance & CFO
Since the year 2007, Samir has been with Apraava Energy as Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial operations and controls. He has led the team to issue the first Asset Specific Bonds in the Indian power sector for Apraava Energy’s Jhajjar Power Plant and the first Corporate Green Bond Issuance in the South Asian and South East Asian power sectors for Apraava Wind Farms. He has been the recipient of prestigious awards like CA- CFO in the Power Industry by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Recognition of Excellence by CFO 100.
Samir is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
Samir completed his Senior Executive Leadership Program (SELP) in 2017 from Harvard Business School, Boston.

Naveen Munjal
Director - BD & Commercial
With more than 33 years of post-qualification experience, a large part of which has been in the power sector, Naveen has been associated with Apraava Energy for close to 22 years. Naveen initially served as the CFO of the business for about 6 years. Before joining Apraava, he held leadership roles at Powergen, Lucent Technologies, AT&T India, and SB Billimoria & Co. (part of Deloitte India).
Naveen is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He graduated in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.
General Counsel
Sudipta Ghosh
General Counsel
Prior to joining Apraava, Sudipta has worked with two prestigious laws firms in India – Trilegal and Amarchand Mangaldas (now Cyril Amarchand) and has handled various domestic and international financing for infrastructure projects including the financing for various Power Projects and Airports. Sudipta has varied experience in project financing.
Sudipta has completed her LLM from University of London and is a Member of the Bar Council of Delhi and a Solicitor in England and Wales.
