Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)

We are delighted to announce that Apraava’s smart meter project in Assam is India’s first to ‘Go-Live’ under Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS)*. Our meaningful partnership with the Central and State Governments aims to usher a consumer-centric smart meter transition in India.

AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) adoption in India is rapidly gaining momentum and presents a significant opportunity for the country to enhance its energy security, improve power reliability, and promote digital transformation. Apraava Energy is keen to capitalize on this opportunity and pursue its strategic objective of developing low-carbon and sustainable businesses.

Apraava Energy provides end-to-end Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution. The AMI system assists Discoms in the areas of data collection, optimisation of operations and improvement of performance transparency.
Smart metering system provides diverse advantages such as:

  • Helps consumers better understand and manage their electricity consumption, leading to cost savings on their monthly bills.
  • Provides consumers with more detailed information about their electricity usage and allow them to set up usage alerts to help them make more cost-efficient decisions.
  • Helps distribution companies reduce operating and maintenance costs and improve the quality of service provided to consumers by enabling better demand-side management
  • Helps distribution companies improve their billing and collection efficiency by providing more accurate and timely usage data.

*New smart meter project awarded under Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) rolled out by the Central Government to provide result linked financial assistance to Discoms.
