About the Project
Veltoor, located in the state of Telangana in the Mahbubnagar district, is a 100 MWac Solar Farm which has been in operation since August 2017. Spread across contiguous 640 acres of land, this 100MW plant with automatic Solar trackers avoids over 126,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. The world's first project certificate for photovoltaic (PV) power plants was awarded to Veltoor solar farm by DNV GL, a multinational quality assurance and risk management business, in recognition of its high standards for safety and technical compliance.

Integrated community development
Apraava Energy has undertaken an integrated project around its Cleansolar Renewable Energy, Divine Solren and Veltoor plants in Telangana. It is aimed at skill development and water conservation.
Youth in these areas have a need to increase their skills and hence Apraava Energy has setup computer courses that helps them get employment opportunities and advance their careers.
Meeting energy needs of villages through solar
Access to sustainable energy is a critical catalyst to enable village communities to have access to better health, livelihoods, education and increase in the standard of living. It is with this goal that Apraava in partnership with SELCO Foundation supports the solar electrification of rural communities through its integrated model village program.

The findings of a need assessment study carried out around the Veltoor plant revealed that high dropouts in schools and child malnutrition were key concerns in the communities. Mid-day meals (MDMs) have played a key role in addressing this twin challenges.

Providing better healthcare for the communities
People especially in rural areas lack proper understanding of health issues and have difficulty in accessing proper healthcare. Rural people are unable to make use of health services due to their low earning and high cost of medical expenses, as a result of which the health risks continue to rise. To address this issue, Apraava Energy supports medical mobile vans in this catchment area.
